Sound Post-Production
This is where everything comes together. Our sound post-production service covers the complete pipeline: dialogue editing, sound effects editing, Foley recording and editing, original music composing or programming, final mix, and mastering. We work to the technical specifications required for cinema, broadcast, and streaming platforms, ensuring your project sounds as good on a cinema sound system as it does through a laptop speaker. Production sound mixing
Our sound design studio in Belgrade handles design and mixing. The best sound design in the world can’t fully compensate for poor production audio. Clean, well-recorded location sound is the foundation on which everything else is built, and our recordists treat it that way. We work on film and TV sets of all sizes, using film-standard equipment (Lectrosonics, Sound devices, Aaton Cantar, DPA, Sennheiser, Betso, Orca, Ambient, Tentacle sync, Audio wireless, Cinela..) to capture dialogue, ambience, and production sound. At Waveform 10, our composers and sound designers create original scores and full audio identities for films, documentaries, and video games. We work across genres and formats from programmed music to recorded music, small troop compositions to symphonic orchestral, from cinematic soundscapes to fully adaptive, programmed game audio systems. Foley studio Belgrade is especially proud of making Foley effects, walla walla, and dialogue replacement where technical craft meets pure creativity, and it’s one of our favourite parts of the process. Our dedicated professional Foley and audio post-production studio is built for the detailed work of creating and recording every sound that makes a scene feel alive: footsteps on different surfaces, the texture of fabric, the clatter of everyday objects. Alongside Foley, our ADR stage handles the recording and seamless integration of replacement dialogue, whether lines were unreachable on location, need to be redelivered for clarity, or require adaptation for a new market. Back in 2016, we came together and formed a team from the same milestone 10th graduating class of Faculty of Dramatic Arts (https://fdu.bg.ac.rs/en/faculty/history), united by a shared passion: that the sound on every project must be unique, singular, and inimitable. As experts in all aspects of film production and sound post-production—foley artists, sound designers and recordists, dialogue editors, composers, and producers—we treat every task as a universal challenge! The numerous successful projects we have completed for both domestic and international markets are the result of a skill set that our members possess. Through years of academic and practical work, they have honed a unique style, precision, and the impact of their work.

standards we offer
For the audio side of post-production, the studio should have high-quality studio monitors, an audio interface, professional-grade headphones, microphones for recording narration, dialogue, or foley effects, as well as an acoustically treated space that allows for precise listening and mixing. Depending on the scope of work, control surfaces, MIDI controllers, and other specialized equipment for sound processing and synchronization with picture also play an important role.
An integral part of every serious post-production studio is a reliable system for data storage and archiving, such as external drives, NAS servers, and project backups, since film material takes up a great deal of space and requires a high level of security. UPS devices for protection against power outages, quality network infrastructure, and appropriate software for video editing, audio processing, visual effects, and final export of the material are also important.
In addition to technical equipment, the organization of the workspace is also a significant factor. A well-lit, functional, and acoustically treated studio increases work efficiency and contributes to the professional quality of the final product. Overall, the equipment for a film post-production studio should be aligned with the type of services the studio provides, the scale of production, and the standards it aims to achieve in the market.

“BRIEF HISTORY” OF DEVELOPMENT
“..With the development of audiovisual and electronic media in the second half of the twentieth century, a growing need for creative sound expression appeared. The expansion of the sound use in the media created the space for a higher number of properly educated staff dealing with sound creation. The idea of providing sound recorders and designers in our region with university education was born in mid -70s of the previous century. At that time, the commission was formed consisting of representatives from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts and the then RTV Belgrade. A proposal for establishing the Department was made in 1985. Two years later, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia decided to make ‘Graduate Sound Recordist’ a university education profile. However, the beginning of studies for sound recording and design at the Faculty was delayed for a longer period of time due to administrative obstacles.
Despite this, the need for proper way of recording, editing, and creating of sound could not be stopped, so in 1985, Rihard Merc, Senior Expert Associate, became the first teacher at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade for the Sound recording and editing course for the students of Directing, Editing and Camera departments. Working at the Faculty as a teacher and on RTV Belgrade as a sound recorder and designer, professor Merc joined his professional and educational experience by reviewing all the complexity of these positions, and formed a proposal to start the education of future sound recorders and designers. During the spring of 1996, professor Merc organized seminars at the FDA for sound recording assistants, which became the School of Sound with twelve vocational courses that same year in fall….. “
